The Burning Hell's Baby first time on vinyl

„The Old World“ - this is the title of the painting by Gabe Foreman that has been used for the cover artwork of the album "Baby" by The Burning Hell . And no, the painting is not shown here but „The Old World“ could have been as well the title for this band promo shot. (and it’s a suitable headline, kind of, for an album re-issue, that features eg. “The Berlin Conference”, a song that took a new look on the 19th century scramble for Africa)

Back in 2009, The Burning Hell was still a project with Mathias Kom at its centre but a rotating cast of musicians otherwise, actually way more people then shown above.

Mathias Kom about this album "When I made Baby ten years ago, the lineup of The Burning Hell was changing almost constantly. I spent most of 2008 and 2009 on tour (we recorded Baby in three different parts of Canada during that time), and whoever wanted to come with me was welcome to jump in the van and bring their cello, omnichord, trumpet, or electric guitar with them. This resulted in the band's early reputation for being a kind of hodgepodge collective, but the unpredictability of these years also meant that the band's live performances reflected the kind of joy and manic energy that comes with newness and the raw excitement of being on stage with your friends. I don't think the band has ever lost that, despite the many changes over the last decade, and it all comes back to those early days. Even if I've never been entirely comfortable with nostalgia, this is one record that I look back on with nothing but fondness. The songs still mean a lot to me (and we still play many of them live), and I'm excited to share this re-release with you."

Right on, as for "Baby" we're excited to give this record a loving (first time on) vinyl re-release on its 10-year anniversary.

The Burning Hell Baby will be available in stores Nov. 23rd or you can order here. …ah, and the first 250 orders will get "The Old World" by Gabe Forman as a handy fold out wide screen poster, too.

The Burning Hell are on tour in the UK, Nov.27th - Dec.15th. See all dates
